The Hundred of St Briavels was the ancient name for a substantial part the area between the Wye Valley and the River Severn, today this consists of the statutory Forest of Dean and each parish touching the Forest boundary. A Royal Forest rich in iron ore, coal and the oaks for England’s warships. The 100 of St Briavels walks are 10 guided walks in the Forest of Dean, each 10 miles long. They explore some of the best scenery and give a fascinating insight into the unique folklore and history of the area.

By taking part in this programme you’ll earn walking miles towards becoming a Freewalker of the Forest of Dean and on completion of 100 miles you’ll be awarded with your Freewalker of the Forest of Dean badge.
